Artificial Intelligence in Education – Halfway to Transformation

The PAIDEIA project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, has reached the midpoint of its 36-month implementation period. Over the past 18 months, the consortium of 12 organisations from 7 European countries has developed key documents and tools aimed at integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education. Among the main achievements are:
-
Four strategic scientific reports have been published, along with the development of a dedicated AI competence framework for education. All of these, together with other project-related materials, are available on our website: https://www.paideiaproject.eu/
-
A concept for a teacher training curriculum has been developed, based on the AI&EDcomp framework and aligned with the new UNESCO standards;
-
The third transnational project meeting took place in Dublin (March 2025), where pilot activities and the finalisation of the PAIDEIA platform were planned;
-
Roundtables and surveys are scheduled to be held in each partner country, focusing on teachers’ experiences, students’ perceptions, and the challenges related to AI in education;
-
Special attention is being given to ethical AI use, combating disinformation, and fostering critical thinking in schools.
By the end of the year, the platform is expected to be finalised and pilot teacher training will be launched in real school environments. The project continues to build a sustainable network of teachers and institutions ready to meet the challenges of digital transformation.
